Congratulations to our Spring 2010 Phi Beta Class!!! We are so proud of your accomplishments! Welcome to the sisterhood!

Recruitment

Formal Recruitment (also known as Rush) is a mutual selection process that allows you and the sorority members to get acquainted in a causal setting. Participating in Recruitment does not obligate you to join a sorority. It provides an opportunity for you to learn more about Greek life and everything it has to offer. During Recruitment, you may meet with all the different sororities on campus to learn about their chapters. Dress casually, be yourself, and above all, have fun while you meet the girls that may be your future Sisters!

If you have further questions regarding formal recruitment, please contact our Vice President of Recruitment. You can find the name and contact information of our VPR under the Sisters page.

New Member Education

New Member Education is a six-week period during which new members learn the history, purpose and function of the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. New members will experience New Member Education with a group of woman, commonly referred to as an education class, with the guidance of a New Member Educator. There are several expectations the sisterhood has of new members during the six-week process. For questions regarding these expectations and more information about our new member process, please contact our Vice President of Membership Development. You can find the name and contact information of our VPMD under the Sisters page.

Our No Hazing Policy

The chapter would like to emphasize to anyone considering joining our sisterhood, that we take our no hazing policy extremely seriously. Below is an excerpt from Delta Phi Epsilon's International Policy against hazing.

"No chapter or colony, undergraduate or alumna, shall conduct or participate in hazing activities. Hazing is defined as an action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off sorority premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: paddling in any form; creation of excess fatigue; physical and psychological shocks, quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips and other activities carried on outside or inside the confines of the chapter house; the forced wearing in public of apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste; engaging in public stunts and buffoonery, morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; and any other activities which are not consistent with state, federal or local laws, sororal laws, ritual policy, or regulations and policies of the educational institution."

We believe very strongly that it is hard to maintain a strong sisterhood if members of the group are bringing down or belittling each other. Throughout your time with Delta Phi Epsilon, you will never be made to do anything that is uncomfortable or harmful to you or others.
